"My two friends and myself thoroughly enjoyed your concert we were privileged to attend at Whistler on Tuesday August 28th, 2001. I was fortunate to have met Mr Emyr Wyn Roberts, his wife and beautiful little daughters with their lovely Welsh rosy cheeks. One of the friends I was with has convinced her grandson to name his new baby daughter Darya, I wondered if any of you could tell us the meaning of the name? Thank you for a magical evening. Gwen Taylor"

"I intended to thank you all on behalf of Ron and myself last Thursday night but didn't know if I could make it through to the end without tears. A couple of weeks ago we knew only five members of the choir but now it seems as if we know you all as we were made to feel so welcome. We have made so many new friends. It was a wonderful week for us - didn't do a lot for curing our homesickness mind - in fact, quite the opposite - but it is well worth every tear. We'd like to thank you all for allowing us to be part of your stay in Vancouver. We had the most fantastic time and the singing wasn't bad either. No seriously, thanks very much we really appreciate it. In fact there are no words that can begin to express how we truly feel. To be included in dispatches on Thursday night was an honour indeed and quite unexpected. The part about us stowing away in one of the extra boxes wasn't too far from the truth. That was one of the reasons that Ron wouldn't let me come to the airport to see those of you who were flying home on Friday night. Thank you all again so very much and we hope to see you soon when we come home to Wales. "

"You thought you had heard the last of me at your social evening on Thursday, but here I am turning up again like a bad penny. I can't thank you enough for allowing me and my wife to join you on your tour of the Butchart Gardens and the Killer Whale Watching boat trip. The experience and camaraderie was outstanding. Congratulations on the success of all six of your concerts and especially thank you for joining my choir, Vancouver Welsh Men's Choir for the informal concert on Wednesday - a night I will never forget. Special thanks to Brian Williams and his committee for organizing this tour. Best wishes for continued success. Hope to see you again in this part of the world in the near future. "

"The choir are a great group to be around and very good singers. We had the chance to be staying in the same Motel in Canada with them. We were able to meet several and be a part of wonderful social with them! Many thanks go out to them for letting us be Welch for a night! We could not have asked for a nicer group to be around and such a wonderful ending to our vacation that week! Thank You VERY VERY much Roger & Josie Currier"

"Thank you for a very special musical evening at Whistler last night. I shed some tears as many of the pieces reminded me of my Father who used to sing them to me as a child. Many years ago I might add! Today I have been presented with my 9th great granddaughter and I am hoping she will be named Darya. That seems like a good old Welsh name to me! If Darya could spare a moment I wonder if she would let me know what the name means, I would so apprecate it. I will remember to tell my great granddaughter she was named after a brilliant accompanist of the Cymbach Welsh male Choir! We are all hoping to see you back very soon and please do come to Squamish! Marg Hendrickson"

"What a privilege it was to attend your evening concert last night in Whistler. My two friends and I enjoyed it immensely, what a talented group and thank you so much. I was fortunate enough to meet your musical director Emyr Wyn Roberts, his delightful wife and two very beautiful little daughters with their lovely Welsh rosy cheeks! I think it must be something to do with the Welsh air but I don't see many Canadian children with this kind of complextion. So very well behaved as well, I congratulate you. Please come again and perhaps make sure you come to Squamish next time, our theatre is a little larger and I'm sure you could fill it. Thanks again and good luck Gwendoline Taylor"

"I attended the recent performance of the Cwmbach Choir and their special guest Jason Howard at the Port Theatre in Nanaimo, it was a fantastic evening of entertainment. I particularly enjoyed the rousing rendition of our National Anthem as it should be sung and was suitable impressed that you knew all the words, many Canadians don't! I hope that on one of your future tours we will be able to bring you to our community. We don't have a Welsh Society as such but we do have a very active Celtic Club which includes a few Welshmen who would be interested in helping with arrangements. Thank you again for the wonderful wonderful musical evening in Nnaimo. Sincerely, Mary Breer "

"I attended the performance last night a the University of Victoria Auditorium. What a pleasure it was to hear such wonderful voices signing in joyful unison. Their coice of material was varied and very well received by all. I especially liked the show tunes. I alwys enjoy hearing how a choir treats music that is not traditional choir music. I belong to a mixed choir in Victoria and it was a pleasure for me to see how well the choir conducted themselves throughout their performance. The choir was very professional in deportment and their numerous entrances and exits from the stage were conducted with precision such that they were not a distrction to the audience. All in all a very nice performance and I would like to express my thanks to the choir for coming to Victoria."

You have tremendous voices, and your musical selection was grand. I am especially thankful for the time you all took to speak with me and sign my programme. Thank you all for visiting Victoria. You are certainly welcome back anytime! "

"Dear members of Cwmbach Male Choir Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Hördur Björgvinsson, and I am the chairman of Male Choir Stefnir in Iceland. We are planning a trip abroad in June/July 2002, and England and Wales are on top of our list. We would probably fly to London and go by bus to Wales, stopping on our way where ever we would have bookings for conserts. Stefnir has 50 members, and most of us would bring our wives. We are looking for choir(s) to help us arrange conserts, and maybe join us in a few songs. We would also welcome any advise regarding busses, hotels and so on. Do you know of any song festivals or contests during that time? If you can be of assistance please contact me at email This email address is being protected from spambots. "Dear Sirs I am an amateur videographer and I am making a film about 2 great uncles that served with the 13th Welsh Battalion in WW1. Both were killed in action. They were Henry Hopkin and William Rees, both from Porth. The film, entirely for private use and exhibitions, is not intended for sale or profit. However I have been offered considerable international help in putting it together. Contributors so far range from Triorchy Library Archives, The Welsh Regiment Museum, Imperial War Museum, Belgian and French historians and so on. The purpose of my writing to you is to ask if you have available any music CDs (I am prepared to purchase commercially given the references) of the male voice choir which could be used as a sound track on my film. This will give it great atmosphere and reflect the family roots of the subjects. Would you be able or prepared to override copyright for this? I would need a range of songs, or tunes, which would suit the subject matter. I plan to dedicate the film to the entire Rhondda casualty list and it may be relevant to have a copy of Men of Harlech for that closing section. I would appreciate you help in this and offer a credit to the choir on the film and a copy of the finished video. If you unable to help could you direct me towards someone that might help, perhaps a smaller more local choir. Many thanks Neil Hodgson "
