Cwmbach Male Choir

Founded in the Heart of Aberdare - Queen of the Valleys

Vikki Howells A.M. takes on Role as Vice President

The choir is delighted to announce that, Vikki Howells, Welsh Assembly Govenment Member for Cynon Valley has taken on the role of Vice President of Cwmbach Male Choir.

Vikki is a lifelong resident of Cynon Valley, and was educated at St John Baptist Church in Wales High school, Aberdare, before attending the University of Wales, Cardiff where she gained a Bachelors Degree in International and Welsh History, and a Masters Degree in Modern Welsh History. Whilst studying at Cardiff, Vikki received the Charles Morgan award in recognition of her contribution to the field of Welsh History.

As someone who was born and raised in Cwmbach, Vikki has always taken a keen interest in the Choir and has attended many of our concerts over the years. Indeed, just a few months ago her daughter had the experience of singing with us at the Coliseum as part of the Cwmdare School Choir.

Choral singing, drama and art has long been a rich part of the history of the Cynon Valley, and we hope that together we can help sustain and grow this very important part of life in the Valleys. The are undoubtedly many challenges in the future, however, we hope that the partnership with Vikki will help us face them head-on.

Welcome aboard Vikki...... see you in rehearsal soon.
