Appointment of Vice President - Mr Dylan Davies

Dylan Davies Appointed Vice President of Cwmbach Male Choir

Cwmbach Male Choir is delighted to announce the appointment of Dylan Davies as Vice President, in recognition of his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for the choir and the wider community.

This appointment reflects the choir's deep appreciation for the positive impact Dylan has made through his charitable work, community spirit, and dedication to supporting others.

Throughout his involvement with Cwmbach Male Choir, Dylan has shown remarkable generosity and encouragement. His support has meant a tremendous amount to everyone connected with the choir, and his appointment as Vice President is a fitting recognition of that contribution.

The choir is especially grateful for Dylan's role in organising the recent tour to Belfast. His hard work, encouragement, and careful attention to detail helped make the trip a memorable success. Highlights included the concert at St. Swithin's, Magherafelt, and the Player of the Year Awards at Rainey RFC—both of which were marked by warmth, friendship, and lasting memories.

Everyone at Cwmbach Male Choir offers Dylan their warmest congratulations and sincere thanks. We look forward to welcoming him to future concerts and, we hope, returning to Belfast in two years' time.

Mr Tony Lewis 558

It is with heavy heart that we bring you the sad news that long-serving top tenor Tony Lewis chorister 558 died on Saturday night following a long and brave battle with cancer.

Tony joined the Choir in 2003 and added a lovely tenor voice to the Top Tenor section.

He was a true Welsh speaking Welshman, born and brought up in Carmarthen (Tony would have been 82 next Saturday)

Before retirement, Tony was a popular and well respected Deputy Head Teacher at Mountain Ash Comprehensive School. Into retirement, Tony and wife Julia bought a caravan in West Wales, which Tony loved. They also enjoyed choir tours together, and of course, visiting their daughter in Australia. With his partner in crime Roy Edmunds, Tony immersed himself in the choir and enjoyed every tour and event to the fullest. When the choir modelled Gucci for Vogue magazine in 2019 he was a willing volunteer and took centre stage as you can see in the photo below.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Julia and their family. Tony will be greatly missed, and fondly remembered, by all at Cwmbach Male Choir.
